Galactic Smackdown - Gunnar Goldson Reference

Name: Gunnar Goldson (Orphans are named for their blood colour, his real clan name is unknown)

Species: Nexucain Humanoid
Their most notable trait compared to Terran humanoids is that their natural hair, eye, and soft tissue colour are the same due to chemicals in their blood. Other common blood colours include black, red, bronze and silver. On average they are shorter than Terrans but with denser musculature, enabling them to perform greater feats of strength and endurance. Their leg structure is great for sprinting and leaping, but not so much for climbing or swimming.

Backstory:
Orphaned since before he could remember, Gunnar has spent his whole life under the teachings of a temple where individuals are trained to be the best covert operatives on their planet. From there he has become highly skilled in tactical espionage and close-quarter combat, and despite his age has been employed on several team missions dealing with crime syndicates and military threats. Now of age, Gunnar prepares for his first solo mission.
Because he is an orphan Gunnar was given the surname Goldson, a common convention his species use is to name a child after blood colour (in this case: Son of a Gold Blood)

Disposition:
Gunnar is firmly on the side of justice, though his teachings as a covert operative will incline him take any risk to ensure his survival. As such he is willing to make alliances with almost anyone, though friendship is another matter. In battle he usually keeps to himself to keep hold of his concentration, but if caught up in a moment he will almost without fail become excessive in his violence. Even when out of battle he'll remain mostly quiet until discussion leads to something he has interest in, at which point he'll eventually just ramble until made to stop. As a means to distract himself, he will often either train or talk until he is too tired to stay awake.

Strengths:
- He has been highly trained at keeping out of sight, which he employs for reconnaissance and planning.
- While a highly adept martial artist, he is a pragmatic fighter more than willing to use anything as a weapon or a trap.
- As long as he is conscious, he can draw on VITAL Energy to buff his abilities. Using VITAL can effectively double his strength and speed for very short bursts.
- With his gauntlets, he can summon and withdraw his VITAL weapons almost instantly, something he makes use of in his fighting style.

Weaknesses:
- He may have studied about it, but he has little real experience outside the clan temple where he's spent almost all his life in.
- Without his gauntlets, using VITAL Energy for anything other than defense will drain him considerably.
- To replenish VITAL Energy, he needs sleep. If he runs empty he will be forced to sleep.
- If he's run out of plans, he is prone to panic and likely to 'tactically retreat'.
- Sour candy. Only in friendly situations though.

His Biggest Weakness:
- He is suffering from OCD, a condition that has been building in severity since his teenage years. Apart from one individual, he is adamant on keeping this secret.
- Adrenaline is the most common way for him to kick back his compulsive thoughts. During an adrenaline crash he is much more susceptible to follow his compulsions.
- Ignoring his compulsions can result in migraines or even anxiety attacks. To build up adrenaline, he defaults to practicing and listing off combat forms (which is partly why he's perfected them while so young).
